Mnet’s M! Countdown is back again on October 21st with another weekly fun-filled music show, and this episode is packed with awesome performances.

There were a couple of special stages today, featuring the duet between Jang Jae In and Kang Seung Yoon, follow-up stages for Rainbow and Co-Ed, as well as Outsider’s comeback.

It was a close one between miss A and Ga-In for the #1 spot on M! Countdown today, but in the end, it was miss A who came out on top and earned the trophy for this week.

Congratulations to miss A for winning their first trophy for “Breathe”!

4minute releases “First” full Japanese PV

Earlier today, a short version of the PV (Promotional Video) of 4minute’s upcoming Japanese single, “First” was release by Universal Music Japan.

If you guys were disappointed that the PV was cut midway, don’t worry! The full PV of “First” was finally released moments ago, revealing the full audio of the track as well as some appealing eye candy of the girls throughout the PV.

Besides their title song, “First,” the single album will also contain the Japanese version of their Korean OST song, “Dreams Come True” from the drama “God of Study.” The full single album will be released on October 27th, so stay tuned.

Just where does Min’s ‘kkab’ come from?

On the October 20th airing of “Radio Star“, guest MC Tony An asked Min, “Why are you called KkabMin?”

Min jokingly replied, “People with years of training turn out like me because of all the accumulated stress.” She added, “You have to neutralize that stress, and so, end up with kkab.”

With the prompt request for a “kkab dance” from the MCs, Min performed an outrageous version of “Bad Girl Good Girl”, causing uproarious laughter from her castmates and the viewers.

2NE1’s Park Bom crowned the ‘Celebrity Queen of Gluttony’

2NE1’s lead vocalist Park Bom was recently stamped with a new nickname – the ‘Celebrity Queen of Gluttony’.

Music sales site Monkey3 conducted a poll for 6 days (October 14th to the 20th), with the question of interest being, “Which celebrity do you think is the King/Queen of Gluttony?‘ According to the results, a total of 448 netizens participated in the poll, with 207 participants (46%) voting for Park Bom.

Meanwhile, ‘1N2D‘ star Lee Soo Geun placed second with 72 votes (16%), while KARA’s Nicole came in just under Lee Soo Geun for 3rd place, having just one less vote than the variety star.

Why is SNSD’s Seohyun the only member holding a bow?

Recently, SM Entertainment revealed three sets of photo teasers for SNSD’s guerrilla-type comeback on the idol group’s official website. For those of you who have yet to peep the photos, check out batches one, two, and three.

The teasers having been garnering explosive interest from both fans and the general public, as the concept screams a “retro ’60’s ‘James Bond“ theme. Rocking those thigh-high boots, most of the girls are posing with toy guns. Yet eagle-eyed fans have noticed that maknae Seohyun is the only one holding a white bow and arrow.

SM explained, “While it is a spy concept, we created the image to signify that we will lure the fans by shooting an arrow to their hearts. To further amplify the song’s meaning, Seohyun got to hold the bow. Other members also held the bow during the photoshoot, however we decided Seohyun suited holding the bow and arrow the best.”

SNSD will be revealing their MV teaser on October 24th at midnight. They will unleash their mini-album on the 27th, and finally make their official comeback through KBS ‘Music Bank’ on the 29th.

KARA performs on Music Station, bonus interview with NEWS

As previously reported, the ladies of KARA made an appearance on the October 15th edition of Music Station. The girls performed their hit single ‘Mister’ and also conducted an interview with popular Johnny’s Entertainment group NEWS.

KARA member Nicole also gave a special demonstration of their ‘butt dance’ which a member from NEWS tried to emulate but failed miserably.

Sulli voted as cutest girl group maknae member

In a battle between miss A’s Suzy and f(x)’s Sulli for the title of cutest girl group maknae, Sulli managed to capture the hearts of netizens in a survey held by Star News ,which asked, “Who’s cuter? Girl group maknae battle,” on Style M.

The poll ended on October 15th with a total of 1,093,156 participants. Results revealed that 68% of the netizens voted for Sulli.

Sulli is currently the group maknae, along with Krystal, in f(x), while Suzy is earning the love of fans as miss A’s maknae. Both members represent “cuteness” in their respective groups, an important role in helping the group earn more popularity.

With the rise of girl groups and the emergence of different styles and concepts, many believe that the cute role of the maknaes is the best role of all. Most often, these maknaes hold the most popularity in their groups as well. SNSD’s Seohyun, Wonder Girls‘ Sohee, and KARA’s Kang Ji Young all hold a considerable amount of popularity over their unnies, showing the strength of maknaes.

Shoujo Jidai (SNSD)’s “GENIE” is certified ‘Gold’ by RIAJ

With their second Japanese single “Gee” priming to take Japan by storm in less than a week, the girls of Shoujo Jidai (SNSD) are celebrating their latest success. Their debut Japanese single, “GENIE“, has been certified ‘Gold’ by the RIAJ for shipping over 100,000 copies in the month of September.

According to Oricon, the single has sold 88,735 copies so far, and is #62 on the year-end charts, which is up there with the likes of Namie Amuro (“Break It/Get Myself Back” at #63) and Koda Kumi (“Gossip Candy” at #64)! The Oricon year still has a few weeks to go, so this isn’t their final position – but fear not, SNSD fans! “GENIE” is still hanging on: it can be spotted on the charts at its latest daily position of #22 (as of October 13th).

Clearer preview of KARA’s upcoming single ‘JUMPING’

Earlier in the month a preview for KARA’s upcoming November 10th release of JUMPING was revealed on Fuji TV’s Mezamashi Saturday. Unfortunately, the sound was low quality and the song was also obscured by the sound of the host’s chatter. Now, a clearer preview has been revealed.

miss A’s Suzy throws the opening pitch for Doosan Bears

After yesterday’s pulsating game 3 of the Korean pro-baseball playoff game between the Doosan Bears and the Samsung Lions, which went into overtime and was won by the former (9:8), the two teams match up again this evening for game 4 at the Jamsil Baseball Stadium.

Having seen her miss A unnies, Jia and Min do the opening pitch for Doosan Bears not too long ago, it was the turn of miss A’s maknae, Suzy to do the same thing this evening.

SISTAR’s Bora talks about her infamous stumble video

SISTAR Bora’s spoke up about her infamous stumble video.

On the October 9th episode of KBS’ Star Golden Bell 1 Grade 1st Class, Bora said,

“It was even introduced on German TV and American TV.”

Bora slipped in the middle of a ‘Shady Girl‘ performance in August, which led to her fractured thumb and her nickname, “Collapse Bora.” She stated

“It also got to 2nd place on a American program that shows funny videos.“

Although Bora was probably really embarrassed by the incident, it seems that she is staying optimistic and is focusing on the fact that SISTAR is getting known internationally through her video.

SISTAR debuts in Thailand and begins overseas activities

On October 11th, SISTAR successfully completed their performance in Thailand, and has turned on the green light for their Asian activities.

Recently, SISTAR has been selected as the promotional model for Thailand’s version of Korea’s “Superstar K“, the “Teen Superstar TV Show“. SISTAR performed their debut song, “Push Push“, and “Shady Girl“, showing off their fresh and bubbly charm.

From Thailand’s public TV channel MCOT (Modernine) to Hallyu channel K Channel, more than 130 different broadcasting stations and newspapers came to cover the event. Due to the popularity of SISTAR’s “Shady Girl”, they have been receiving love calls from Japan, Thailand, and other Asian countries, spurring SISTAR’s overseas activities.

A representative of SISTAR stated,

“SISTAR’s Thai fans filled the airport and greeted them enthusiastically, holding posters and photos of the members. Regardless of the fact that it was their first visit to Thailand, many people showed much interest. Beginning with Thailand, we plan to officially begin Asian activities.“

f(x)’s Sulli voted to have most beautiful eyes among idol girl group members

f(x)’s Sulli has been voted as having the most beautiful eyes among girl group members.

A survey was conducted from September 27th to October 11th, where 734 people voted on “The girl group member with the most beautiful eyes.”

f(x)’s Sulli came in first with 329 votes (44.8%). Second place went to Brown Eyed Girls’ Ga-In with 204 votes (27.7%), and SNSD’s YoonA was third with 193 votes (26.2%).

A staff member who has worked with Sulli on the SBS drama, ‘The Ballad of Seo Dong“, expressed,

“Sulli was born with acting skills and charming eyes. Despite her young age, she is a natural actress and understood her character perfectly. Furthermore, at the filming location, her bright smiles earned the affection of many sunbaes and staffs.”

f(x)’s Victoria gets deserted by a college student

f(x)’s Victoria was stood up by a 20-year-old college student in LA, leaving her in a state of much embarrassment.

After receiving a rather difficult mission on an episode of MBC’s “f(x) Koala,” the members began to panic and started looking around USC in order to ask a student for help.

While Victoria was charming the students with her outgoing personality, a 20-year-old male student appeared and offered to help. All of a sudden, he ditched her without any reason or explanation, embarrassing Victoria in front of the other members.

Sulli also showed desperation in order to succeed on their mission by screaming “Help me!” in the middle of campus with teary eyes.

The episode can be seen on the afternoon of October 16th at MBC Every1.

f(x)’s Krystal doesn’t want a romantic love

f(x)’s Krystal revealed on MBC’s “f(x) Koala” that she preferred a normal kind of love as opposed to a dramatic, movie-screen love.

While conversing with the members in Los Angeles, Krystal revealed,

“I don’t like the kind of dating everyone dreams of in movies. I think normal is the best. The normal kind of dating.”

Luna was shocked and asked,

“You’re only 17 and already don’t have romantic fantasies?”

As Sulli tried to persuade a response out of Krystal, Krystal turned the tables and teased,

“I know who Sulli likes.”

Everyone immediately tensed and waited for her response until she cheekily stated, “Me,” turning the recording set into an ocean of laughter.
